Benefits of using our Hot-Mix insulation option for asphalting: In a test conducted in early March, 2002 we compared our bottom dump with the Hot-Mix insulation option versus 3 bottom dumps from a competitor without the insulation. Results clearly indicate the benefits of using our Hot-Mix insulation: All trailers were loaded at the asphalt plant and driven 35 miles in 52o weather. The competitive brand's outside skin measured 165o, hot enough to burn your hands. Construction Trailer Specialists' outside skin measured a safe 80o. After the 35-mile run, the competitive brand's temperature, measured from the front of the hopper to the center, lost 60-65o of heat. The asphalt was too cool to pour properly and was clumping. Completely insulated hopper, including the doors. Trailer is double-walled and filled with insulating foam, averaging an R-15 insulation value. Insulation is a 2-part liquid foam, sprayed into the hopper cavities. After the rising process, the foam fully fills all cavities around the hopper.
